Do Something Good...

Do something good everyday

This is a mostly true story (though not 100% accurate because . . . memory and age):

It was 1990-something.

I graduated from Dana College and was embarking on my career journey. Business was my thing - and I was having fun. Six months (or so) into my second career I was promoted to store manager.

Big time for me, and I didn’t really have a clue what to do…sure I was good with people but, this was a quick turn and I was still learning.

My boss was excited about the possibilities, and I remember his advice.

“Thia, (that’s what he called me) do something good every day and make the best business decisions you can.”

About the same time that Steve offered me that advice it was reinforced by someone else. I can’t remember if I read it in a magazine or If I heard it on a motivational cassette tape. Might have been Tony Robbins or Zig Ziglar. Either way, the lesson was about learning something new...every day.

Point is: Doing something good every day, Stuck.

I think about that now as I encourage others (and myself) to play to our strengths...every day.

It’s a more refined way of saying don’t get overwhelmed by what you don’t know. Instead, focus on what’s right in you - and do something positive that makes good sense…every day.
